JQP/OT Definitely seem to have a gift for shooting holes in the bottom of their boat out there, just like their political counterparts in D.C.

No new supply for 10 years! And the news writer chalks up the huge increase in electric rates to deregulation?

Really think some remedial reading on the basics of a market economy are overdue for both public policy makers AND the media.

JQP-you are totally correct-- the CA Bill would simply insure CA has power shortages for years to come. These lawmakers blame anyone but themselves. They just don't get it in CA and are digging bigger and bigger holes for themselves and their children. Their refusal to build power plants will make them pay and pay and pay. --Frank

CA senate just insured that the State will be short power generation for at least the next 2 years. Once again, the law of unintended consequences threatens the politics of good intentions. Maybe if just one senator bothered to take an econ 101 course ...
