Enough with the humility.

I'm just trying to stand out from some of the other posters on this thread!

find a way to use those thought processes as a predictive tool so you can help me find a good place for the cash that's burning a hole in my pocket.

In that thread of my career in which I can pretend to be a mathematician, my focus has always been on the use of mathematics as a tool to give me insight into the underlying biology (or social structure or language or whatever it was I happened to be working on at the time) and it was that insight into the underlying biology which the sole point of the exercise. I feel the same here.

So, if by "tool" you are hoping for a GAP metric, you are more likely to get it from someone else, since I am going to be focused on the companies, products, markets, DIs or lack thereof, etc., i.e., how all this stuff fits together as a system ... and that, unfortunately, comes down to understanding. Before my exposure to Moore, which started with CTC, I despaired of having a good handle on any more than my own segment of my own industry. What the GG does for me is to provide a filter by which I can structure a less perfect understanding, but still achieve reasonable confidence that the important bits have been identified, and thus have a workable handle on a number of sectors.
