Hi Zeev Hed; There are plenty of references to the Polaroid case, and lots of histories of it. It was quite famous. There seems to have been two parts, an infringement determination, and a damages determination. I gather that there wasn't any $6 billion award.

If you want to look through the 60+ references that google gives, click away on the following, I only looked at a dozen or so of them:

google.com

I don't see any references to $6 billion in any of these. There are plenty of references to "almost a billion" and references to another famous award of $1.2 billion, but I didn't see what you're looking for.

Sometimes our memories fool us, and sometimes search engines don't find links to stuff that predates the internet. Take your pick. (G) Have you noticed that both Samsung and Toshiba are now bearish on RDRAM production?

P.S. And I am very fast at finding these things. I think it was richard surckla that accused me of being a staff rather than a person. (LOL!!!)
