wargesmd, Thank you for posting that information. It was my recollection that Nortel and Lucent were both pushing a standard using signalling for automatic switching in the optical network. I suspect this is a much bigger development than most people realize at this time. My reading suggests that the members of ODSI are working on their own standard which does not use signalling.
