Hi Ken, That goes a long way to clarify the "proposed" standard. Thanks, and thanks to vvargesmd, too. If you want to see something similar [if my take on the brief scan of the site is anywhere near accurate] that is already up and working, take a look at Sycamore's meshing, route discovery, network awareness, bandwidth allocation and switching, and ultimately their automatic route recovery techniques. I'm suprised that they're not involved with ASON, too. Sounds awfully similar to me, but after closer inspection tomorrow, I might find that I am wrong, we'll see. I'll look over the other papers that are at that site tomorrow, as well. FAC
