Gus, do you think MCDT is a compelling buy here on its own? Or are you comfortable just holding it via your EMC shares? I'm tempted to sell off about a quarter of my EMC and purchase MCDT, based solely on market cap issues.

>I don't think that we should be too quick to assume that a) the McDATA shares will be distributed according to the current ratio of McDATA Holdings and EMC;<

Gus, after reading your post several times, I'm still unclear as to what you may be guessing at here. Ostensibly, one of the major reasons for a spinoff would be to open up new market opportunities for Mcdata, particularly amongst companies that compete with EMC. Are you suggesting a partial spinoff, no spinoff, or some other scenario? And if not spun-off according to the current ratio of Mcdata holdings to EMC, then how?

thanks - Abner
