From DSL Prime Newsletter:

"DSL chip shortage over" is not our headline this week, although a mid-level executive at a respected chipmaker told us on-the-record. "We're shipping from inventory, and welcome large orders for prompt delivery." But his company at top level refused to confirm, and interviews with three of the largest DSL chip vendors saw continued tight supply until Q1 2001. By watching customer sellthru, monitoring inventory at customer site, and aligning closely with fabs, the chip vendors are trying to avoid the typical industry meltdown. Meanwhile, profits should be excellent for two quarters as vendors are holding prices firm and selling out production.
