I once saw Rob Long, who wrote for "Cheers" and has done a Gore parody for National Review, speak at a conservative conference. He talked about meeting Reagan shortly after he left office, when he was still vital, in Reagan's offices in Century City, near Hollywood. He was introduced, and there was the Gipper, smiling warmly, offering his hand. All he could think to do was shake the hand and say "Thank you, President Reagan!". Reagan just nodded, and said, "You're welcome".........
