Hi N, About all I know of the qualifications to be included in the NASDAQ 100 Index is that this group is the 100 largest "Capitalization" stocks on the NASDAQ exchange.

This is different than the largest 100 in Revenues.

It has to do with the value of their outstanding stock shares. So, it can be quite different from one year to the next. I'm sure there were more Internet related issues on its list in March than there is now.

I don't know how often they update the list and/or change names included. I'll ask and see if I can get an answer.

Thanks for asking,
Tom

Hi and Welcome,
Tom's answer is almost right. The NASDAQ 100 is composed of the 100 largest marketcap companies in the NASDAQ Composite excluding Financials.
Hope this helps.
Bernie
