All drill results have been delivered to MINTEC inc. of Tucson, Ariz., for the update of resource and reserve calculations and the economic mining study which is expected to be completed in the next month. Northwest results Two holes completed at the northern limit of the mineralization have intersected significant silver and gold (see Schedule 1) and confirm the continuation of the deposit to the northwest. Both of these holes, AD-65 and AD-66 were drilled from section 1+00 north and were drilled to the northeast at azimuth 045x at minus 45x. AD-65 intersected 36 metres at 38 grams silver and 0.03 of a gram gold per tonne (40 grams silver equivalent per tonne). Hole AD-66 contained 27 metres of 64 grams silver and 0.08 of a gram gold per tonne (68 grams silver equivalent per tonne) and a lower zone of 12 metres of 32 grams silver and 0.06 of a gram gold per tonne (35 grams silver equivalent per tonne) within 51 metres averaging 44 grams silver and 0.06 of a gram gold per tonne. Hole AD-67 was located to the south and drilled to the southeast from the hangingwall with no significant zones intersected. Main zone results Drill holes AD-63 and AD-64 were drilled from section 4+00 south with hole AD-63 drilled at azimuth 083x and minus 40x and hole AD-64 drilled at azimuth 095x and minus 38x. Both holes intersected hangingwall mineralization (see Schedule 1) before encountering an irregular felsic intrusive at depth. It is presently believed that between section 3+50 and 4+00 south the main zone of mineralization is irregularly intruded by this felsic intrusive unit. Additional drilling in this area is warranted to determine the potential for any additional southern and vertical or plunging extent to the mineralization. The company is encouraged by the results of the 2000 drill campaign (results presented in Schedule 1). It is expected that this program of approximately 8,100 metres of drilling will provide a significant increase to the resource/reserve base at the Alamo Dorado project. Column leach test update Metcon Research Inc. of Tucson, Ariz., has provided a further update to the results presented earlier. The reported column leach results of the phase 1 pit area sample averages a silver equivalent recovery of 73 per cent and the overall composite sample averages a silver equivalent recovery of 67 per cent. Both results reflect recovery increases since the earlier report. It is expected that ultimate recoveries will increase from these levels as gold and silver continue to leach from both samples. The preliminary results reported here are for material that was sized to 100 per cent passing 3/8 of an inch. Two composites samples were created from the large diameter diamond drill core collected last year and placed under leach and are reported in the following table: Table 1 Column Leach Results in Progress Leach Ag Time Ag Au Equivalent (days) Recovery Recovery Recovery* Phase I pit composite (with low-grade and high-grade) 178 73% 71% 73% Overall composite (with low-grade and high-grade) 194 66% 75% 67% *Silver equivalent based on $5 (U.S.) per ounce Ag and $300 (U.S.) per ounce Au.
