if VLNC and VLNC-licensees capture a good portion of this huge market....

Agreed, but for now I'll settle for management announcing ONE purchase order from someone in that market. Uhhhh....other than the Moltech one, of course. Heh!

As for Microsoft-Qualcom. As much as I might like the combination I've got to say MSFT has got to find a better OS than the, imho, kluggy crash-prone OS's they press upon all of us. I've been running Linux on one of my other PC's, and I've yet to have it lock up on me. And during that same time I can count on both hands the number of times I've locked up Windows. Linux is doing all that I use to feel UNIX was capable of doing waaay back when I was a UNIX systems analyst, although I'd be the first to acknowledge its command structure was cryptic as hell to the uninitiated. Linux has (somewhat) overcome that issue, so over time it could eat MSFT's lunch, particularly since it scales so well.

But of course nothing in life stands still; so we'll have to see how it all plays out.

Thanks for the posting. Hmmmmmm....and one other thing; I wonder how the industry will address reclamation and recycling; since I've been reading a fair number of statistics indicating the life-span of wireless devices (principly cellphones) is something like 1.5 years. So if you do the math using your postings information......yeeesh......you're talking a mountain of wasted electronics inside of a 10 year period.

Regards!

John~
