I think Needham is more a case of "who needsthem". Why would they cut their target to $36 based on accelerated earnings growth. Obviously their initial target has no credibility, and they are just raising price targets when markets rise, and reducing them when they fall. Gruntall have much more credibilty as they are demonstrating consistency and not a response to market whims. Fundamentals will rule the day eventually, as I have found out previously in responding to analysts and their ratings. I look on a pull back as a buying opportunity. You can't do more than speculate on companies that demonstrate solid growth over many quarters. You pays your money and you takes your chances.

- raised his earnings per share estimate for fiscal 2001
ended July to $1.70 from $1.56; raised his fiscal 2002 EPS
estimate to $2.20 from $2.14; raised his fiscal 2003 EPS
estimate to $2.80 from $2.73.

'02/$2.20-'01/$1.70=.50 - 30% growth in eps. (.50/1.7)

30PE x $1.70 '01 earnings = $49.3, hence $50 short term target

30PE x $2.20 '02 earnings = $66.0, hence $65 long term target. (from today's price - upside 175% if long term target reached)
