LOL!!!

Gotta hand it to Bezos and GSCO for their blatant short squeeze attempt on AMZN the last week. When I was a retail broker, a buddy of mine got caught dropping a 100 share buy ticket at the close to paint the tape. Stock was 2 7/8 x 3 1/8...if it closed at 3 or 3 1/8 his clients were ok, but if it landed on 2 7/8 he'd get massive margin calls. So he bought 100 shares in his own acct to paint the tape. The mgr turned him into the NASD...the NASD called it "stock manipulation," suspended him for 10 days and fined him $25,000. But orchestrating a massive short squeeze is OK--funny how the NASD's interpretation of "stock manipulation" changes when a white-shoe firm does it. And of course, it doesn't hurt when they use The Ferret as their town crier.
