Sun-- I love your questions and feel that they are relevant to every stock I own. Basically, you are asking what advantage does this company have so that it merits our investing in it.

I am not a techie, but from my perspective as a VLT holder of AMAT, it large market share is due to its superior products which seem to eliminate production steps. They have the biggest R&D budget and have always committed themselves to being ahead of the competition.

I am less concerned than most about the capacity limitations since usually a large demand means higher prices and hence higher profit margins.

Finally, IMO, a question was asked a few years ago that now seems comic, "Why do we need better computers? What killer apps are left?" This thread has addressed that question and what we don't know is usually more advanced than the current proliferation of the need for chips,

IMO< AMAT is the leading company is a rapidly growing industry, and I'm comfortable with that.
