Ten, idn't you say that before when SSE was released, only to change your stance later? SSE was originally promoted as speeding up transformation and lighting geometry. I knew that this was moving to hardware, and was not required for the CPU. An interesting thing happened which I didn't anticipate though. The high performance T+L graphics cards enabled more sophisticated physics, which does take advantage of SSE and necessarily has to be done on the CPU. Maybe something similar will happen with streaming video applications? Scumbria
