idn't you say that before when SSE was released, only to change your stance later?

SSE was originally promoted as speeding up transformation and lighting geometry. I knew that this was moving to hardware, and was not required for the CPU.

An interesting thing happened which I didn't anticipate though. The high performance T+L graphics cards enabled more sophisticated physics, which does take advantage of SSE and necessarily has to be done on the CPU.

Maybe something similar will happen with streaming video applications?
