Hi cellhigh; Re "folk's lets not forget rmbs ran to $481 without a hint of ddr dram or sdram royalties."

Yes, but that was before Intel backtracked on their full support for RDRAM.

Rambus filed suit against Hitachi on or about Jan. 18, so I don't think you can exactly say "rmbs ran to $481 without a hint of ddr dram or sdram royalties.". From the chart, Rambus hit its first local maximum Mar. 10 or so; it didn't actually touch (pre spit) $480 till the end of June, presumably with the Hitachi settlement, which turned out to be somewhat less overwhelming than originally advertised.

What drove RMBS up in the first place was the Feb. IDF "Rambus only for Willy" story, but that story is now inoperative. Demand is down, and it doesn't look like any easy settlements are coming up soon. But you'll always have Oki, to paraphrase Humphrey Bogart.

Cheers, Dan.
