VA Linux Systems (LNUX: news, msgs) shares added $6.88, or 15 percent, to $51.19. The Sunnyvale, Calif., provider of Linux hardware products and consulting services said its 4450 server model is now available. The 4450 server features four Intel 700Mhz processors. VA Linux said the product was designed specifically to handle "robust enterprise databases such as Oracle 8i." The server can also be used for e-commerce sites, application serving, software development, enterprise resource planning, web hosting and clustering.
