I watched it, and commented on it. No one said to emphasize the scandals, but they are there, and there may be legal ramifications. People are tired of such stuff.......

Excellent observation about the GOP being so preoccupied by the scandal that they failed to get out their message in '98. I think you hit the nail right on the head: They're doing the same thing again this year, as was evidenced by the speeches in Philly.

Supporting that line of thinking -- with thanks to Frank for posting the story -- is the call by Gore to Dubya to start getting specific about some of his social service plans.

Here's another thought: Maybe Dubya isn't getting specific because he first needs to receive the OK of all factions of the Republican Party.

Just speculation on my part.
