Cirrus,

Dell offers 1GHz PIII systems at MUCH lower prices. There is no way they are getting the same pricing as Compaq. Dell's is much lower...

This is part of Intel's masterful strategy to push all the majors over to AMD. DUH

Cirruslvr:

Full page ad, once again today, on back page of a Toronto large daily circulation newspaper comparing IBM's offerings and Dell's...IBM's 600 MHz Aptiva 38U featuring AMD's Duron is priced at $1,607 CDN, $1 less than a similarly configured Dell 566 MHz celeron system...IBM's 700 MHz Aptiva 39U also featuring AMD's Duron is priced $3 more than a similarly configured Dell PWeeiii 667 MHz system...

This IBM ad mat be the beginning of an IBM commitment to AMD in its fight against Dell for marketshare...can't wait for the second phase in the campaign when IBM compares T-bird 1 gig systems to the "invisible" PWeeiii Dell systems...No contest there, methinks...

Oh, by the way, the ad is a "Buy Today, Ship Today" ad...Guess the Durons are finding retail outlets!!!
