First, they're NOT the world's largest email hosting service. The reason they have 70+million inboxes is because every mom-and-pop spammer in the world has several dozen inboxes

Spammers use all sorts of services, and are included in every service's #s. Do you have any info to prove that Hotmail has more spammers than other top services as a percentage?

Second, the important point to get from the quote is that the largest e-mail hosting service in the world was self-hosted on Windows 2000, and in the process, the bug fixes needed to make it happen went to benefit the retail version. At the same time, you can bet that Microsoft took bug reports from customers and incorporated the fixes.
