Decided to raise more cash today (about 25% now). I know what I said yesterday, but have been thinking that OPEC has no choice but to lower prices in the short term imho. Maybe prices won't come back much, but any decline in crude below 30 will be a yet another catalyst for techs. Also I don't like the fact that refinery utilization will decline soon. I was already thinking Sept would be good for techs as volume should pick up as more traders return, but with oil prices likely to fall a little in the short term I'm even more convinced.

I will start buying back into the OSX again around 125 or lower.

Bought more WCOM today and bought back into QCOM. I still think QCOM is due a dead cat bounce if nothing else if/when the tech make a convincing breakout in Sept.

John. Probably a vain hope. But maybe we can get a refinery or 2 built IF we get a strong Bush victory and his new admin:

1. Puts some SERIOUS effort into cleaning out the usual planted lefty Clintonistas and closet Greens in the EPA.

2. Tell the public the truth about what we're up against.

3. Then push like hell in Congress while they have that all important honeymoon mandate during their 1st 6 months!

Fire shuts cat cracker at Sunoco's Marcus Hook refinery
NEW YORK, Aug 31 (Reuters) - A 35 minute fire at Sunoco Inc's (NYSE:SUN - news) Marcus Hook refinery near Philadelphia shut its 86,000 barrels per day (bpd) catalytic cracker, a company source said on Thursday.

``The fire started at about 11:30 a.m. EDT (1530GMT) and was extinguished within about a half an hour,'' said a company source. ``As far as I know there were no injuries.''

``They had to take the cat cracker down and now they've got to figure out the cause and when they'll be able to fix it and bring it back up,'' said the source.

An official at the Marcus Hook Fire Department said five to six fire companies responded to the fire as well as Sunoco's internal fire unit.

The fire official said there were no injuries at the 175,000 bpd refinery.
