RESEARCH ALERT - Oceaneering Int'l started at buy

NEW YORK, Aug 31 (Reuters) - Lehman Brothers on Thursday initiated coverage of offshore energy services provider Oceaneering International Inc.
(NYSE: OII) as a buy.

-- set 12-month price target of $25.

-- Lehman said that given a lagging stock price and the company's "leverage to the anticipated robust deepwater drilling recovery, (it) believes that this is
a good time to get into the stock."

-- said a trend toward increased deepwater and ultra-deepwater drilling and production supports Lehman's optimistic view of the company's prospects.

-- said while deepwater drilling has been lagging the industry recovery, Lehman expects an acceleration in activity in the coming years.

-- forecast earnings estimates of $0.60, $1.20, $1.70 and $2.00 per share for fiscal 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004, respectively.

The company's Nasdaq-traded shares closed at $15-9/16 on Wednesday. They have a 52-week high of $22-1/2 and a low of $12-1/8.

Some brokerage firm upped OII to a buy. Stolt is probably next so I'll buy some soon. If they like OII, gotta like SCSWF.
