George

"Used eight Sun StorEdge T3 disk arrays and 36 StorEdge A5200 disk arrays."

I bet "cascading" would not have fit the bill here. There actually may be something to "multi-staging" after all, eh?

As highlighted by the Network World "Blue Ribbon" configuration, Silkworm probably hits the wall way before 10 switches, and 20 silkworms probably divvy up between 3-4 segmented storage domains with interconnects.

I also bet the 64 port director will soon be qualified by Sun, if this type of configuration is indicative of Sun's larger customer requirements.

But you know I'm a betting man. I know a "sure thing" when I see it. Glad to see signs that the Sun ramp has finally begun.
