Brian, more on chip use where I didn't expect it: the Cue Cat is a bar code reader that is given away free by Radio Shack and Forbes [mailed to subscribers]. With it you read special bar code [so far only in Forbes] below ads and near articles. This takes you directly to the bar coded web site.

I installed mine this morning and tried it out using Forbes'
"Best of Web" issue. It works, although you have to swipe just right [so do the checkers in the supermarket].

It is, of course, another attempt to sell you goods. But I can see magazines and newspapers using it to send you to web sites for more background info on an article, too.
