hey linda, take a look at this incubator...i smell another softbank situation...here is a post of mine to another thread.

first time on this thread...i would urge people to take a look at MRVC...i think a huge run-up is likely this winter:
1. this company is now a pure holding company for fiber optic co's(something softbank and cmgi should have gravitated towards abit more).

2. mkt cap less than 5B currently.

3. they have stakes in over 14 fiber optic co's.

4. institutions starting to pile into this stock now.

5. the first company they will spin out is Luminent...the ipo was just recently announced...this company has rev's in the 100's millions and is profitable...they make both passive and active parts for fiber industry(analogous to jdsu/corning and nortel)...ipo should happen this winter...should reach mkt cap between 5-10B within a week of ipo given the valuations of its competitors....MRVC owns 90% of this company and they will spin out the rest of the shares not being sold to the public within 6-12 months from the ipo date...MRVC's stake in this co. should surpass their own entire mkt cap without difficulty.

6. they have stakes in:

-charlottes networks(terabit routing analogous to avici)
-optical access(formed from jolt and astro terra--wireless fiber optics like terabeam and air fiber...S1 to be filed within 3 months)
-zaffire(metro-optical player)

7. there are 10 other co's they have stakes in that i have not mentioned...they will spin these co's one at a time...3 yrs from now, MRVC will be a well known co. imho.

8. i was into softbank very early and this situation has many analogies.

We will see if i am correct by the end of this winter...i think a run-up will happen when luminent gets closer to their ipo date and people start to realize they can get in on the luminent ipo via MRVC...with DD, they will realize what they have in MRVC.
