Jeez DD, I read the article too, and I didn't come away with any interpretation other than:

You bought a stock, it went up, you sold.

An investment strategy I'm proud to say I use in more than one third of my trades !

The remark, "if you catch my drift" , is just a cool way of saying that you sold and therefore the reason for the stock movement no longer matters to you.

Who would think anything else ?

Ummmmmmm .....

... we are talking about the Golf Digest article, aren't we ?
