Flack... you got it - just one indicator! Why do you need to know the actual price levels of stuff if you can see that suddenly there's a surge of buy orders being submitted to the market (or a removal of sell orders) - before they execute. Watch Level II closely for any given stock and you may notice that the raw number of inside orders shifts when a stock is about to reverse - suddenly lots more orders appear on one side as they disappear on the other.
It doesn't matter what the price is... that's a sign that
the thing is spring loaded.

Take that concept for any individual stock and measure it
across the entire market, and you have the BSR.
So simple Pan can cough it up.

Besides which, it may not be around for much longer,
if a certain group of people find success using it
and pay me to take it down and keep quiet :-)
