Some highly credible posters have defended Mr. Dean so I will not argue his capabilities. However, how can anybody defend his recent analysis claiming SEG stockholders are getting a good deal by getting $5 for SEG operations and all their non-VRTS holdings. That report destroyed his credibility in my mind and made me wonder if the recent downgrade of the industry had the same motives as the SEG evaluation.

On the other hand, I do not believe any analysts, CEO's or Market Makers know the status of the disk drive industry two months from now. John Dean may have as good a chance as all the speculation that is driving this market today. We all know that the industry will have strong demand over the next five years and these short term problems today will soon be past. These stocks will be high percentage gains to those with the patience to wait out these short term problems.

Regards,
Mark
