Thanks for your comments. I never thought Willy could kill AMD...AMD has too much going for it now. However, Willy can/could make life very, very unpleasant for AMD.

Nonetheless, its looking less and less the threat we once thought it was.

I think Willy will run about 20-30% slower than Athlon at the same clock speed. So they will need to have 20%-30% higher MHz to compete with AMD. It might happen, but Willy certainly is not going to kill AMD.

Err, if Willy is (say) 30% slower than Athy, then to compensate, doesn't willy need a 43% higher clock speed (from the way percentages are calculated).

I could be wrong, math was never my strongest point :)
