I totally disagree with you. The internet is a new paradigm and therefore certain companies will dominate this space until it becomes a saturate as a commodity. MSFT days of domination are over because the PC era is going the way of the automible. Few leading companies such as GM, Ford, Chrysler. But MSFT did dominate the 90's because they exploited the PC space the best, to their credit, and it was a relatively new paradigm.

The internet, thanks to Netscape, represents a totally new paradigm, and therefore, few select companies will dominate this space. To date, SUNW, CSCO, EMC and potentially ORCL wil dominate this space. ORCL's earnings come out 9/11 and many people suspect they will be spectacular.

Please do not try to rationalize your heart felt feelings for MSFT. In my opinion, MSFT might go the way of Digital Equipment rather than be a stellar company like G.E. Obviously, MSFT does not implement a Six Sigma quality assurance program. If they did they would not have to release as many patches to their software.

JMO, Bob.
