Right now Intel produces about 35 Million CPUs per quarter in a capacity constrained market while AMD has problems producing K7s at 1/10 that rate despite fab capacity that should produce much greater numbers. If one should "make hay while the sun shines" we can't help but wonder why AMD is making such little hay.
