Thanks Yes, I am aware that buy/writes are equivalent to selling naked puts, and I agree limiting downside is more important than the call premium; since this is an IRA I am stuck doing buy/writes. Any thoughts/reactions to HRC, IP, GT, SFE, NUE, MCK? Do you look to see if the whole sector has bottomed also? I am starting to watch retailers to see when they settle on a bottom. Mike

Mike, Any thoughts on McDonald's? Their stock looks to be hitting new lows, I haven't done any research, but it certainly seems to be a money machine, as long as the class-action sharks don't see them as a target due to their artery-clogging product <ng>. Zach

hi Mike, in regards to the writing of options, i'm presuming you've been doing this for years and years. Are you able to discern if the primo's you've been getting are generally higher, lower or about the same over the years ? I sense that with people getting greedier, you are getting better deals on these. I suppose if the mkt craps out and the dow goes to 4k or something, the primos will shrink too. Having said ALL that !, maybe people who are looking heavily to this sort of income should lock in bigger primos with longer terms leaps before the (mythical) big kahuna ? your thoughts ? thx ps. hockey season is gonna start soon. which top flight league does Houston have a team in this year <g>
