They are doubling output of Athlons this and next Q...
Sooner or later they will outpace chip industry growth. Then they must "really" start to displace Intel chips.
It's been my experience in business that even though you have a better product it's still an uphill battle to displace the entrenched product...particularly if it's basically identical in functionality.
AMD has to choose some balance in how fast it ramps Dresden lest it be stuck with a bunch of chips, lower speed ones at that...don't want that inventory sitting around in this industry...or you have to have a fire sale.
OTOH, infrastruture may be the limiting factor here but that will correct itself...but may have resulted in lost sales...which you don't make up.
