There goes the most valuable aspect of your new instant message system.

I'll second that assessment !!
Rather than an IM feature, why not have a 'prompt'
that is attached to ones' "People Marks" file ..
So that you get an alert in real-time when some-one
in the file makes a 'post' .. accomplishes the same thing ..
instant communication across SI and across a 'buddies
list' .. I proposed this to Bryan over 2 years
ago .. As we all know market information is very time
sensative .. Does no one any good to review ones'
Bookmark file after the fact .. like reading yesterday's
newspaper ..

You make a good point here. Could be useful to send messages to a group of buddies rather than individually. Should definitely be considered, although not entirely sure of technical (and spamming) implications.
