I think Janet was talking about subscribing to AOL rather than investing in it. The point is that their lock-in is such that it's a minor but real hassle to leave, so as long as they don't fall too far behind the curve a lot of us will continue to fork over our fees.

You said You rely on a company that already has proven they dominate a rapidly growing niche. The market is proven, the technology is owned, the management is tested.

You get no disagreement from me on that score, having never invested in AOL and having no intention of doing so at this juncture. Even before discovering GGaming, I knew better.

I've managed to winnow my portfolio down to some respectable gorillas and kings along with one lone shiny pebble purchased before I discovered these environs. My comments were those of a currently satisfied, non-tech AOL customer. (At least now with DSL, there's no more America on hold, and I'm never summarily thrown off line.)
