I grew up in St. Louis. Stan Musial was/still is my hero. The '64 season remains special for me. Our teams clashed in '67 and Bob Gibson proved the difference in that 7-game tilt. David Halberstam wrote a good book on the '64 season. Not even Hall of Fame GOP Sen. Jim Bunning from Kentucky, a real bulldog on the mound and in Congress, could save the Phillies the last two weeks of 1964.
