player: Excellent TA books include The Technical Analysis Course, A Winning Program for Investors and Traders by Thomas Meyers, and The Handbook of Technical Analysis, edited by Jobman. Many posters here have other good TA books to recommend.

Nasdaq volume has indeed increased by about 15% this week from last week, and volume Thursday was high at 1.9B shares as you noted, so this Nasdaq rally can continue as long as some technicals are in place, such as Nasdaq breadth and volume.

If the Nasdaq continues to rally or at least be firm, then JNPR and other high relative strength stocks can indeed go up some more, but will suffer profit taking at some time, such as when RSI gets over 80 or after exhaustion gaps.

Institutions are sometimes trend followers just like retail investors, so they may do more buying(in the expectation that even higher prices are ahead of us) even though some stocks have gone up quite a bit.

My ideas and opinions are not to be construed as recommendations to buy or sell stocks, such as JNPR. Always do your own research before investing.
