pj, the chart shows a price drop and that was due to some investors thinking the semi equipment cycle had peaked or was near peaking. They have since been proven wrong. On the other hand, Applied's backlog has kept growing the last 3 quarters. That means shipments [or billings] should remain strong, even if new orders did not accelerate, because Applied can fill the backlogged orders.
And that's good for earnings.

I don't think the market paid much attention to backlog,
but we do. :)
