I loved those records that came with Mad magazine ("she got a nose job"). I remember those candy dots that came on a roll of paper. I always avoided the green ones, not realizing that they were all the same flavor, just different food coloring (er, they did use "food" coloring for it, didn't they?). Trading cards, I remember Mars Invades. Mickey mouse club reruns (didn't know that they were rernus at the time). I remember having a thing for Annesste, even before I know why (must have been the size of those "ears" that she was sporting). Loved Soupy Sales routines (...I kissed her between the strikes, and she kissed me between the balls...-that was a classic). Then there was the Merry Mailman with Ray Heatherton. Now I don't know about you, but that always threw me off as a kid. Here was a guy named Ray who had a daughter named Joey! My only question is, where did sweet pea come from. Was s/he an illigitimate love child from Olive Oyl? Did Whimpy have a roll in this (or did he just have a roll with his burger). When did Bluto become Brutus? was that name change filed with the postal authorities? Why do we call it labor day, when nobody works? Got really pissed off watching BRCM and Cree drop from their pre market highs this morning. So instead of yelling at the screen and at the CNBC crew, I took my 9 year old out jet skiing for the first time. Nothing like salt water (and jelly fish in the water (no, not the latex kind!)) to take away from the stress of the market. Sometimes you just have to say "screw it! I need to get out, remind myself what sunlight looks like, and join the world once again. Hope everyone has a pleasant weekend. David
