The purpose of the recent drilling program was to test for both high-grade vein occurrences and bulk-tonnage gold mineralization in surrounding country rock, both of which were intersected in the 2000 drilling. Hole CHD00-1 was collared south of the Wyoming vein (southernmost vein in the area) and was directed due north at -50 degrees inclination. The hole was terminated at a depth of 1,000 feet. The drill core was photographed, logged and split for assay by Avalon Development Inc., Freegold's geological consultants on the project. Analytical work was conducted by Bondar Clegg in Vancouver. The table shows all intercepts with gold values in excess of one gram per tonne. Intervals with weighted average grades greater than one gram per tonne from hole CHD00-1 Average Average gold gold grade >From To Thickness grade (ounces (feet) (feet) (feet) (g/t) per ton) 116 125 9 3.74 0.109 218 282 64 4.90 0.143 incl. 218 225 7 13.72 0.400 and 225 265 40 5.07 0.148 343 348 5 1.96 0.057 405 410 5 1.81 0.053 520 522 2 86.12 2.513 699.5 705 5.5 1.22 0.035 876.3 878.6 2.3 1.64 0.047 896.4 897.4 1 2.23 0.065 946.4 949.5 3.1 2.25 0.065 Based on historical surface and subsurface data, the newly discovered zone (218 feet to 282 feet), named the Currey zone, strikes east-west, has a moderate south dip and a true thickness of approximately 63 feet. The Currey zone projects to the surface approximately 220 feet north of the collar of hole CHD00-1. There is no known surface expression of the Currey zone. Gold mineralization in the Currey zone is marked by strong pervasive quartz veining and flooding, pervasive sericite alteration and poly-phase hydrothermal brecciation. Anomalous gold values are associated with highly anomalous arsenic and antimony with lesser lead and silver. Fragments of previously altered and quartz-veined intrusive rock are present in the core and suggest a possible igneous genetic relationship at depth. Several other plus-one-g/t intervals were intercepted in hole CHD00-1, including two feet grading 2.5 ounces per ton from a sulphide and sulphosalt-bearing quartz vein. This intercept correlates with the down-dip extension of either the J vein or the Colorado vein, neither of which have been intercepted in previous drilling. The company is recommending additional trenching and drilling to determine the orientation (strike and dip) of the Currey zone as well as its potential to host surface minable mineralization. The Currey zone is being modelled after the nearby Ryan Lode deposit (408,000 ounces at 0.09 of an ounce per ton) which has a similar grade width and depth. Ryan Lode is being evaluated by Kinross Gold Corporation as a satellite deposit to feed its Fort Knox mill located five road miles north of the Currey zone.
