This is why the "RoadRunner" cartoon series seems so appropriate.

The coyote is WAY more innovative, WAY more focused than IBM or HP.

The storage market is *huge. Sun and EMC and Compaq could all be happy campers in the storage market. It's staggering to me when I think of the bazillion terabytes required for consumer media storage alone, in the future (David Bowie singing 'Sound and Vision'). Of course, my staggerment is all the more when I imagine how many stacks of Purple boxes that might translate to.
