Very unusual Ibexx. I bailed after hours tonight... but that certainly was not noticable to that buyer,, LOL! This run looks to be being done on air-- no substance,, time to just watch for a few sessions..

Maybe it was Nokia buying back stocks? If you are to buy back 36 million you can't buy them in posts of 100

Re: Million share AH block. Here's S&P's composite tape:
(date, time, hi, lo, close, vol)

09/02/00 16:45:45 47.125 46.875 47.125 900
09/02/00 16:32:39 46.843 46.843 46.843 1,000,000
09/02/00 16:31:51 47.312 47.312 47.312 100

Since this trade crossed at lower than the regular close and adjacent AH trades, looks more like a sell, or a new short, than short covering which would normally result in a noticeable uptick. Monster AH block trades like this are pre-negotiated; the sprecialist would not hold this kind of inventory through the weekend.

Perhaps the seller was some big hedgie who recently bought below $40 and is now having a very happy Labor Day weekend!
