Thanks for that input. I think most, including myself, tend to see labor unions as one big glob with a few big wheels running everything and making all the decisions. It is educational to realize they don't all jump through the same hoop. I really think there was a time in our history where labor unions were really needed because the industry leaders abused their workers. People like Henry Ford took advantage of that and paid well and built great businesses by respecting their workers. Delta Airlines treated their people royally and paid just a bit more than unions and have had a very happy work force. You have to treat people right if any business is going to prosper. I will vent my biggest concern with labor unions. It is my perception they are unwilling to "run through the wall" in their work and yet demand the most and highest in pay and benefits. If they would give maximum productivity once the deal was struck I would feel much better about it. It is sort of like a professional football player; Once he signs that big contract he is making megabucks. I feel he should be willing to give it all in effort and dedication in return.
