Good is what I think good is- and since I know it is based on my personal preferences, and since I know that other people's opinions of what is good are different than mine, I know that good is relative. I have seen it demonstrated that it is relative. QED What is more as a student of history I know that good has been looked at very differently in other places at other times, if history is to be believed. And while I don't give undo credence to history, when it dovetails with my personal experience in the present- it adds weight. As for Bill (poor man) is oral sex sex? I don't know. It isn't sexual intercourse. I would say it is a sexual act- but I'm really not sure it is sex. I've reflected on this for a long time. I still think doing whatever it was he was doing with an employee was inappropriate, but I can understand why he had a problem answering the question. Add to this I think it was totally wrong that he was questioned about it to begin with- only Monica, imo, had the standing to complain about this situation- since she did not I really don't see how it is any of our business. She was of age- if she had been harrassed and complained I would totally support punishment. But she did not complain. She apparently enjoyed her relationship. I am for people enjoying themselves as long as they don't physically injure other people. Morality is a fluid and elastic concept to me- it depends on what society you are born into, and to what types of persons in that society. I was born to highly educated parents, who were free thinkers. My frame of reference and morality would probably be completely different if I'd been born to parents who were Hassidic Jews, or Amish, or Southern Baptists. Humans have a few moral constants- most societies extract a penalty for intentional murder- but the nature of that penalty differs and the definition of what is intentional murder also can vary greatly. So I do not think definition is evasion. When everything is relative definition is the only way to be sure what people mean. You and I are already starting poles apart- I cannot be expected to know what you mean since you live in a religious society (if only in your own mind) and I do not. Your mind is shaped by your belief and mine is not. We are bound to see things very differently. That doesn't make either one of us right (imo- you may have a different opinion)- but it does make our whole perception of reality different. So I have NO idea, and I mean this, what you mean by good and evil. You would have no idea what I mean either if I used those terms without defining them, I would be willing to bet money on that.
