WOW. I took the gift and doubled down on SAPE today. S3 must read below.

But first I want to say thanks again Tim for the heads up on SAPE and the money flow reports.

FFIV is defying gravity as almost everyone just expected it to pull back today after a couple of large up days but it held up pretty good (I told you to buy some last weekend for $50).

S3 - SIII has come back onto my radar screen. Got an upgrade a couple weeks ago. Will be watching it closely. Look what it did last fall (and don't miss out on it this year Tim). Here is the quick DD...

1) The deal with via to get rid of their low end (low margin) graphic chip division looks good. If I understand correctly, they will still sell the high end graphic cards (Viper, Stealth, Fire GL)

2) Their new S3 Diamond Rio MP3 players should do well for Christmas. Nike version should be HOT HOT HOT!!!

3) Last time I checked their 302 million shares of UMC (Taiwan) was worth $8.73 per share and if they ever IPO UMC in the US it could really benefit S3.

4) RIOPORT.COM is supposed to be a IPO. RioPort is backed by Oak Investment Partners, Vulcan Ventures, S3, Inc., Mitsubishi Corp., EMC Corp. and Quantum Corp.

5) S3 has an investment in Dataplay and I can't wait for it to be available in the Rio. It is small, cool and inexpensive. It looks like they plan on marketing it to work with all kinds of devices. 500 megs and the size of a quarter. The next mini portable storage standard????

6)S3 is working with Transmeta on a webpad and they have made internet appliances a top priority.

7) I forgot, so you'll have to dig for this one:)

Just add their UMC and their cash on hand and see what you come up with.

Just my thoughts but hey, what do I know;)

after reading the crazy train today i am glad i didn't short sape yesterday over $45. {tried to but my brokerage said sape couldn't be shorted.}

yesterday i felt sape was overvalued compared to its competition and the vian earnings decrease stuff was scary.
guess you think the earnings stuff does not apply to sape though.

spent 2 hours before the market opened yesterday reseaching these companies and then was so tired i did very little trading. just opened some Ford 2003 Leaps (+11.9% yest.)

Was going to ignore sape and these companies for now but if you are interested then i must be missing something.

Help guide my trading over the next few months.
Will there be horrendous tax-loss selloff in many internet/tech names in Sept/October (end of year for many funds}.
If i am prepared i may profit for once. (g)

good luck to all and thanks.

Hey there,

Not sure if you would be interested
thought you might want to look into this
neat shareware @ gurunet.com

not a huge down~load , gives your
cursor and mouse
the ability to just point to any
word while holding the alt key
and get the definition, or the location
of an area code , a company and its
quotes etc...and many other nice things.

I think it's really neat!

have a "cool" weekend ...great thread but lot's of work
i bet....
...stay cool and focussed and
pace your energies, Tim.

;-)
