Another two cents - as the Net shakeout continues, you will see money (what's left, that is) move from the losers to the survivors. CNET is one example. Its only real competitor was ZDZ and they swallowed them whole recently.

Fact is, the world doesn't need hundreds of pure play Internet stocks. The marketplace will relentlessly and ruthlessly cut that back to dozens, some of which will be good long-term investments if their business models pan out.

The trick now is to find the temporary survivors still over $5 that can be shorted to zero. But expect some squeezes if the Naz makes another run at 5000.

FWIW. Regards.

I think that scenario has already been priced into a lot of these companies. So we may assume that there are colossal short positions out there. The trick is now getting into the ones that can ride out the storm. I don't think it's wise to pick one or two companies, but perhaps creating a portfolio of several cheapo nets is a good idea. If these things start to turn it will be too late to get in once the news is out. I'm starting with NBCI and I will add some more in the near future.
