Certicom Corp. is another Canadian encryption technology company specializing in security solutions for mobile computing and wireless data markets, including mobile eCommerce, or mCommerce.
Certicom reported revenue of $5.1 million for the three months ended July 31, 2000, a 143% increase over revenue of approximately $2.1 million in the same period in fiscal year 2000. In addition, revenues increased 28% over revenue of $4.0 million reported in the quarter ended April 30, 2000.
I like this niche, predict this space will be hot and feel north of the border, competition isn't as fierce. CERT should get a foot hold and springboard the technology into the US. More and more Canadian companies are making it big, allowing us to forget the miseries of past; Future Shop, Peoples Jewelers, and Canadian Tire, with the success stories of NT, JDS, RIMM, DSGX, CLS, and hopefully soon CERT. finance.yahoo.com
I like the support it is getting from the fund managers here too, (thanks in part to the 80% rule of Canadian content).
Target on this stock is 40, will watch as it tests its new highs, with a 2.5 pt trail stop...
