I can give you the NYC and suburbs perspective: I use Time Warner Cable Modem , Road Runner in my Home. It is fantastic. I fly on it. There was a problem in regard to DSL access here(We are in the suburbs of NYC), so many people went the Cable Modem route. At Home is the cable service provider in the suburbs of NY, in Nassau County and Sufolk County, in Long Island. At Home's Cable network is awful in comparison to Road Runner. I've been on it and it is extremely slow. That is why I've been short the Stock over the past 6 months. At Home is bush league all the way IMHO. PS I'm a believer in the on hands Peter Lynch school of investing. Time Warner is a Winner.
