Battle-tested, LPTH, Chairman, nostalgia.

Just speaking of tenacity in battle, reminded me of the takeover wars, in which Robert Ripp, brilliantly defended his former corporation.

The websites below show examples of the Lightpath COB, (Mr. Robert Ripp) strong, tenacious character, in protecting the shareholder's (investor's) interests, during the takeover wars against his previous fiberoptics/telecommunications company, AMP.

ALLIEDSIGNAL-AMP TAKEOVER WAR - The complete story in a chronology of corporate news releases hersheyphilbin.com

Mr. Ripp was very careful in protecting the shareholder's value in AMP - perhaps even more careful in the subsequent selling of AMP, due to AMP shareholder's request/vote - demand. It was a very profitable deal for all AMP shareholders. AMP was, "the world's leading manufacturer of electrical, electronic, fiber-optic and wireless interconnection devices and systems. The Company had 48,300 employees in 53 countries serving customers in the automotive, computer, communications, consumer, industrial and power industries. AMP sales were %5.75 billion in 1997." hersheyphilbin.com

Then, of course, in November, of last year -
"Former AMP, Inc. Chairman and CEO Assumes Role as Chairman of the Board of Directors of LightPath Technologies, Inc."

"Mr. Ripp most recently has served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of AMP Incorporated of Harrisburg, PA. Under his direction, AMP, a leading manufacturer of electrical, electronic, fiber-optic and wireless interconnection devices and systems, successfully increased sales above $5 billion and sold the Company to TYCO, International Ltd. earlier this year in a deal valued at $13 billion. During his five-year tenure at AMP, Mr. Ripp also served as Executive Vice President Sales & Marketing and Vice President & Chief Financial Officer.

Prior to joining AMP, Mr. Ripp served for 29 years with IBM of Armonk, NY. He held positions in all aspects of operations within IBM during his career, culminating in the last four years as Vice President & Treasurer."

Mr. Ripp commented, "I am very enthusiastic about being a part of LightPath and its exciting prospects
in the area of optical components for telecommunication. I look forward to the opportunity to put my
background and experiences to work in growing shareholder value."

Louis Leeburg added, "Bob is a tremendous addition to the Board. His business experience and
specifically his knowledge of the telecommunications industry will strengthen the Company as it develops
