Eric L: To the Eric who participates. Why would anyone think that new spectrum is important in the real world?

So isn't all the stuff about new spectrum and bids for same a sort of dance around the fire which will diminish as the flames die down?

Clearly HDR/1xEV meet all that 3rd gen promises in current sprectrum, so who needs new sprectrum? For what?

And the fun is that HDR/1xEV (especially with Samsung's enhancements) meet and exceed anything that 3rd gen "offer", all in curent sprectrum, who needs new sprectrum except those so far behind such as DoCoMo or all those tied up in knots by bureaucrats in Europe who can not use current sprectrum rationally and efficiently and so need the "new" to make it possible to permit use of what is clearly superior and coming up fast - HRS/1xEv?

Of course in Europe, since CDMA is banned, absolutely prohibited, and on and on and on and on, the only way to go is new spectrum, but in the world, why?

Curious.

Best, as always.
